Rating of the most reliable car engine manufacturers

Every year, manufacturers or certain companies draw conclusions about a particular area. In this case, the topic touched upon the manufacturers of car engines. American experts decided to bring up a list of the most reliable engine manufacturers for cars from different companies in the world. The list includes Japanese, American and German manufacturers. The statistics of the information were brought by the research company CarMD, which produces software and equipment for diagnosing car engines. Based on the collected data, Toyota became the leader of the rating.

CarMD has been publishing this collection of the best car engine manufacturers since 2011. The criteria are usually taken as the number of engine breakdowns, different costs for their repair and maintenance.

During the study, the company took into account about 5.6 million vehicles, which were diagnosed at stands. The basis for the current rating was various breakdowns and cars in the period from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018, but the information was decided to be published only at the end of the year.

The leader of the rating of the most reliable car engine manufacturers was Toyota, the second position was taken by Acura, and the third by Hyundai. It should be noted that the list of leaders did not include an American or German manufacturer. The table below shows the rating of the companies' reliability.

Further, CarMD, based on its statistics on engine repair and maintenance, as well as information from manufacturers of oils for units, compiled a list of the most reliable cars in 2018, in which there were least problems with power units:

Coming out of the rating, the first place was taken by the crossover of the German manufacturer, although Honda became the leader due to 5 different models. Finally, the experts brought up a list of cars of ten models with the lowest engine maintenance costs. Similar to the previous lists, there is a list and its own leaders.

Now, Hyundai has become the absolute leader in this rating in terms of minimum engine maintenance costs, having noted its 4 main models. Even without taking into account these ratings of the most reliable engine manufacturers, many motorists agree, since everyone operates the car at their own discretion and capabilities, but the problems in repairing or maintaining engines are often the same.
