If the roar of the engine served as music for VIA "Merry Guys", then, probably, most drivers want something else to play in the salons of their cars. Of course, the speaker system is not such an important element for a car as a radiator or steering wheel, but it can significantly add comfort on a long trip.

When choosing car speakers, you should pay attention to the models from the American company JBL, since they are reliable and with high-quality sound.

Coaxial car audio

JBL CS752

This speaker system is of the coaxial type, which does not mean connecting through a coaxial cable, but the combination in one speaker of several sound sources (in this case, two) generating different frequency ranges.

In addition to the high quality characteristic of JBL, the car speaker has a polypropylene cone with a metal tweeter, due to which the speakers last longer, regardless of their mode of use. The system is ideal for installation in dedicated compartments on the front doors of a vehicle.

The speakers have a relatively small standard size - only 13 cm, as well as pretty decent rigidity, but they sound great in conjunction with a standard radio tape recorder without involving an amplifier.

The JBL CS752 car audio system has a high level of sensitivity and the ability to deliver confident bass. The loudspeakers quickly "swing" on loud music, while they can withstand a signal with a power of up to 105 watts.

In their reviews, users of this speaker system recommend adjusting the frequency levels for comfortable sound, and also note the laconic configuration: speakers and instructions. Thus, according to motorists, the manufacturer, having saved on small things, has released a very good product at a good price.

Main characteristics:

  • rated power: 35 W;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 70 - 20,000 Hz;
  • impedance: 4 ohms.

JBL CLUB 6520

The JBL Club 6520 speaker system has a fairly rich and high-quality sound. Some users in the reviews complain about the lack of bass expression, especially when playing tracks in the genres of trance and electronics, but in fact, this sound is typical for the Club line.

The rated power of 50 W allows two-way speakers to receive the signal from the radio without the mediation of an amplifier.

When connecting this car speaker, it should be borne in mind that its impedance is 3 ohms, and this not only gives a slightly louder sound without distortion, but also allows you to connect the speakers to the radio tape recorder with standard wiring. However, playback at maximum volume can be quite interfering.

The budget Club 6520 loudspeaker is capable of withstanding a peak power of 150 watts and serves as an excellent alternative to the speakers supplied with the car. Perhaps this will not be enough for lovers of high-quality car audio. However, considering the price of the device, this is not the worst option.

Main characteristics:

  • standard size: 16 cm;
  • sensitivity: 92 dB;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 55 - 20,000 Hz.

JBL GT7-6

Car acoustics, qualitatively assembled from reliable materials. It is curious that the decorative elements located on the front side of the two-way coaxial devices prevent the protective mesh from falling out. Due to the built-in tweeter, the manufacturer managed to achieve a detailed separation of sound frequencies in this model.

Consequently, both the front doors and the shelf behind the seats can become places for the speakers. By the way, when the devices are placed in the back, the bass, which is perfectly reproduced even without an amplifier, is especially powerful.

In turn, the polypropylene diffuser is highly resistant to high loads. The budget cost of the speakers and the sensitivity of 93 dB, equal to the level of professional speakers, allows the GT7-6 to compete with more premium rivals. According to users, these speakers "beat" so that they are able to loosen clips and other details in the door trim, and, in addition, mirrors.

Main characteristics:

  • standard size: 16 cm;
  • rated power: 45 W;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 55 - 20,000 Hz.

JBL CS763

Variety car audio for $ 36. It is coaxial, three-band and produces a fairly high-quality sound. Low frequencies are present, but, perhaps, this will not be enough for fans of trembling glasses. The acoustics do a decent job without an amplifier, and for the speakers to be well designed, you need to give them a little time.

In their reviews, users, again, allude to a modest package: no protective nets, no wires, no fasteners. Two columns, a brochure and that's it!

Main characteristics:

  • standard size: 16 cm;
  • rated power: 45 W;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 55 - 21,000 Hz.

JBL GT7-96

If your car doesn't have enough room for a subwoofer, then the stylish GT7-96 3-way speaker system comes in handy. The Plus One polypropylene diffusers installed in it, which have been patented by the manufacturer for a long time, differ from competitors by a large membrane area. This feature increases the sensitivity of car audio, and also improves expressiveness and sound quality.

In the reviews, users of the system note a truly surround sound, without wheezing and noise. However, not everyone likes how the speakers reproduce heavy rock and heavy metal, there are no complaints about other musical directions. And how the GT7-96 car audio system will sound is largely determined by its installation and hardware settings.

Main characteristics:

  • standard size: oval, 15x23 cm;
  • rated power: 70 W;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 40 - 21,000 Hz.

Component car audio

JBL GT7-6C

This speaker system already belongs to component, that is, those in which the speakers responsible for different frequency ranges are located in separate blocks.

The GT7-6C speakers are distinguished by a rather stylish design and excellent sound. The body of the tweeter is made in the form of a drop-shaped rotary structure, which allows it to be conveniently placed on the plastic lining of the car's interior at the desired angle.

A fairly high sensitivity of 92 dB and a rated power of 50 W allow the two-component car speaker to sound great even when connected to a standard radio without using an amplifier.

The owners of the speakers note that the tweeters sound too powerful, but this is easily corrected by adjusting the crossover (meaning the frequency filter, not the whole car) and radio settings. Otherwise, the speakers produce a very rich and clear sound.

Distortion can occur only at maximum volume, but probably few people want to listen to music in such conditions. In general, the speakers are excellent and, in spite of the democratic price, they produce far from budget sounding.

Main characteristics:

  • standard size: 16 cm;
  • impedance: 4 ohms;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 50 - 20,000 Hz.

JBL CS760C

Component acoustics CS760C fills the car interior with comfortable sound. It works great with a head unit, reproducing the entire range of available frequencies without an amplifier. A trivial polypropylene cone delivers deep bass that is softly in tune with the midrange part. And tweeters, with the participation of crossovers, do their job perfectly.

Users note that the overshoot of high frequencies that takes place in this model can be smoothed out using the radio settings.

The sufficient sensitivity of the two-way system allows the speakers to operate at high volumes without distorting the sound. Excellent performance in combination with quite affordable cost and high build quality made this model one of the most demanded in the car audio market.

Typically CS760C components are placed on the front doors. The woofer diameter is 165 mm and the depth is 143 mm, making it suitable for installation in most vehicles. At the same time, no additional alterations are required, and you can connect the acoustics yourself.

Main characteristics:

  • rated power: 50 W;
  • impedance: 4 ohms;
  • range of reproducible frequencies: 55 - 20,000 Hz.

Car subwoofers

JBL Basspro SL

The compact size of this subwoofer allows it to be placed directly under the driver's seat. The device is distinguished by modest power indicators, but at the same time it produces high-quality low-frequency sound.

You should not expect high decibels from the unit - its purpose is to add clear bass to an existing standard or alternative speaker system.

Easy to install, an active subwoofer is highly complex to set up. This is where you need to tinker to get the sound you want. However, user reviews of the compact woofer suggest that the game is worth the candle.

Speaking of costs, by the way. Such a “sub” is not cheap, but in practice it justifies the investment. The class "D" amplifier does not consume a lot of energy, does not overload the car's electrical network, connects without a capacitor, and, as noted in the reviews, does not heat up at all and has a long service life.

Main characteristics:

  • standard size: 20 cm;
  • rated power: 125 W;
  • frequency range: 35 - 120 Hz.

JBL Stage 1210

The Stage 1210 passive car subwoofer is designed in such a way that even powerful low-frequency bass plays out well. The device is offered in three standard sizes: 200, 250 and 300 mm, respectively, you can choose the optimal solution for a specific car.

The maximum power of the unit is 1000 W. Regardless of the modification, it is equipped with a rigid polypropylene diffuser equipped with a rubber suspension. This design makes the subwoofer highly efficient, reliable and works well with premium JBL amplifiers. User reviews say that the sound of the unit is simply amazing.

Main characteristics:

  • rated power: 250 W;
  • impedance: 4 ohms;
  • frequency range: 34 - 200 Hz.

JBL GT-12BP

A model that has outstanding acoustic properties thanks to the Band-pass technology used in the construction of the case. It is this element of the subwoofer, competently designed by JBL engineers, that allows you to almost fully exploit the potential of the subwoofer.

And despite the not very high price, the GT-12BP sounds pretty decent even against the background of more expensive counterparts. A significant advantage, discovered by more than one expert in the field of acoustic installations, is a fairly low level of nonlinear distortion over the entire operating range of the device.

Judging by user reviews, the original design of the passive subwoofer case, the presence of backlighting and an affordable price make the JBL GT-12BP one of the best models among 12-inch woofers.

Deficiencies, however, also take place, but most of the owners of this model are perceived as quite acceptable.

Thus, the angle of inclination of the rear wall of the subwoofer does not allow the device to fit snugly against the back of the car's rear sofa, which is more than compensated by the improvement in the sound of the "box". Also, the speaker sometimes gives out local resonances, but they are not able to spoil the acoustic still life from JBL.

Main characteristics:

  • rated power: 300 W;
  • impedance: 4 ohms;
  • frequency range: 45 - 130 Hz.

Conclusion

JBL offers a wide variety of vehicle sound options. Which one to choose - the answer to this question depends on the price, free space in the car and the driver's requirements.

A good solution would be to install budget coaxial speakers on the front doors of the car. Avid music lovers may need a component speaker system. Well, superbass seekers will certainly be interested in subwoofers.
