In the family minivan category, the Honda Odyssey has long been the undisputed leader. But due to the growing competition, he lost his position in the market and yielded to models from other auto concerns. To return the previous reputation, the engineers of the Japanese manufacturer carried out a global restyling.
The new Honda Odyssey 2021 received a more expressive body design, which has a number of interesting touches, as well as an updated interior, presented by luxurious materials and rich on-board equipment. At the same time, the technical characteristics in comparison with its predecessor have practically not changed.
A bit of history
The first generation of the Honda Odyssey minivan went on sale back in 1994. Initially, the car was only available on the American market, so the preferences of US residents were taken into account when developing it. Roomy interior with durable chassis and beautiful exterior design quickly made the model a real bestseller.
A few years later, the car underwent a deep restyling and generational change. In 2013, an updated version for Japan was presented at the Tokyo Motor Show. It was produced only with right-hand drive and resembled the previous generation.
In 2015, the lineup was replenished with a hybrid version, and in February 2020, a left-hand drive minivan entered the market. Despite a number of changes in the exterior, the "fresh" Honda Odyssey largely repeated its predecessor. But the designers of the Japanese automaker tried to make it even more beautiful and expressive.
External appearance
In the course of the next update, the Honda Odyssey 2021 received a stylish exterior. A visual inspection of the vehicle reveals a number of reshaped parts, but identical proportions and a recognizable exterior design concept. The body is replete with a multitude of embossed accents with stepped and undulating designs. It is also adorned with chrome elements, redesigned headlights, new air intakes and other updates.
At the front, the car, as before, is shortened, and the hood is installed at a slight slope. This design improves visibility from the driver's seat, regardless of the height of the person who drives the vehicle.
The front projection is distinguished by a short but massive bonnet with triangular grooves on the sides. The center of the front bumper has changed its appearance - now it has a large strip with chrome plating, which unites the system of air intakes and headlights.
The first has a small size and a polygon shape. Also, the air intake section is equipped with a mesh with thin black lines and the logo of the automaker. The brand badge is chrome plated.
The headlights are triangular and tilted to give the exterior a more aggressive and daring look. In order to illuminate the road surface as well as possible, manufacturers have provided LED optics equipment, regardless of the configuration.
The lower body kit takes up little space and has a slight relief on the outside. On the structure there are recesses for foglights with glossy edging, an additional air intake for more efficient cooling of the space under the hood, and many more embossed strokes. There are no plastic inserts.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey profile looks stylish and modern. Most of the side projection is reserved for a long strip of glazing, divided into sections by glossy black pillars. The figure is framed in chrome. Above are the original triangular rear-view mirrors and stylish turn signal repeaters. Identical elements are found on the front wheel arches.
The main part of the profile is equipped with chrome door handles, a variety of embossed inserts with a contrasting body color, massive sills and wheel arches protruding forward.
The minivan doors are installed on rails hidden under the side glazing. This allows the seamless appearance of the rear end to be maintained without the need for visible structures. A safety latch prevents the left sliding door from being accidentally opened when the fuel tank cap is opened.
All doors are equipped with 360 degree seals to reduce wind and road noise. They also insulate the car from debris or precipitation.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey feed has retained its original look. It has a square shape and is virtually tilted. A shortened visor is installed on the structure, where there are stop signals, a large trunk window, unusual marker lights, a chrome-plated logo of the automaker and decorative embossed elements.

The vehicle body uses revolutionary materials that increase overall rigidity while reducing vehicle weight. This has a beneficial effect on overall machine dynamics and durability.
The 2021 Honda Odyssey comes with halogen factors, round beams and domed interior lighting for high beam lighting. The optics kit can automatically turn off to protect the battery from discharge if the driver leaves the car, but forgets to turn off the light.
The LED low and high beams are exclusive to the fairings. They guarantee balanced lighting at night and improved visibility in adverse weather conditions. The equipment uses less electricity, which improves fuel efficiency and reduces the load on the power plant.

The minivan is designed for 8 people. The chairs are upholstered in natural leather, have comfortable headrests, lateral support and heating. For the riders of the first two rows, folding armrests and flexible adjustment of the seat position are provided.
